Haystack Variants

Haystack Variants consists of a series of interventions using local agrarian structures (lobster traps) inserted into the architecture and landscape of the campus at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts during an artist residency on Deer Isle Maine with generous support of the Windgate Foundation. Using lobster traps sourced from a local fisherman, the series consisted of twenty units that were strategically placed and reconfigured in response to the architecture created by Edward Larrabee Barnes in 1960.
